i rented a laptop from rentacenter. My weekly payment is 44.00. to date I have paid 2400.00 for this computer. i was told to buy it i still have to pay $610.00. absolutely ridiculious. they are thieves. the actual price of the computer new was 699.99 . is there anything i can do to own this computer other than pay 3000.00 for it.

thanks

Some Advice

Hey Joe, maybe you should take some of those crisp $100 bills and buy yourself a laptop which does not have a sticky CAPS key.

Quick clue- Literate people know how to get their point across without using ALL CAPS. Your post had good points, but they were obscured by the caps.

YOU CAN'T BUY A GOOD USED LAPTOP WHERE YOU LIVE???

SOME COLLEGE KID NEEDING BEER MONEY DOESN'T HAVE A GREAT LAPTOP FOR CHEAP?

YOU DON'T HAVE A TRUSTWORTHY STORE WHERE YOU CAN BUY A GOOD USED LAPTOP FOR A REASONABLE PRICE?

I GOT AN AMAZING LAPTOP IN A DELL CASE WITH REBUILT INSIDES, PRE-LOADED WITH WINDOWS XP-PROFESSIONAL AND THE OFFICE 2007 STUDENT VERSION FOR $250 PLUS A WIRELESS CARD FOR $12 MORE AND SOME GREAT ANTI VIRUS, FIREWALL, ANTI SPYWARE AND MALWARE IN GENERAL FREE DOWNLOADS DONE AT THE SHOP FOR $15..I think this would have cost me AT LEAST $900 or MORE NEW -- DON'T KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT A NEW LAPTOP--THE ONE TIME I TRIED, IT WAS A RIP OFF FROM RADIO SHACK WHERE I WILL NEVER GO AGAIN AND IT IS DUTIFULLY POSTED ON THE RIP OFF REPORT.

I AM IN AUSTIN,TEXAS SO WE HAVE MORE AND BETTER COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE CHEAP HERE! LOTS OF COLLEGE KIDS HERE TOO.

DO NOT RENT COMPUTERS --IT'S CHEAPER TO SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY A GOOD USED ONE OUTRIGHT AND ALWAYS HAVE THE PLACE WHERE YOU BUY IT SWEEP YOUR HARD DRIVE IN CASE SOME PERV DOWNLOADED SOMETHING ONTO YOUR HARD DRIVE THAT HE OR SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE!

THAT'S IT.

JUST LOVE TO FEEL THOSE CRISP ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS AND THE SMELL OF MONEY IN THE MORNING!

Who are you blaming?

Jesus, I'm sorry, but you are just a moron. If you have $44 a week to spend on a laptop, why didn't you just save up for a few months and BUY one? Your credit must be in the toilet, because at the very least, anyone else in your position would have used a credit card to buy a new laptop off the shelf and made payments of $176 a month (what you were paying for your rental) for maybe six months- and there you go, you OWN a laptop.

There's a saying about a Food and His Money- ever hear it? Because you sure live it.

But

But you agreed to the deal when you got the laptop didn't you? Why is it a surprise?

Rental to buy places will ALWAYS be a bad deal. Just save your money and buy from a real store.

This is not a rip off.
