So it’s a Thursday following my last payment, the only reason I made my payment last Thursday is because I just happened to be going through the town picking our kid up. Our normal payments are scheduled for Saturday’s. They start calling me and I’m sleeping because I work the 7pm to 7am shift, which they know. So I don’t answer knowing I have until Saturday. They call me at 8am Saturday and yes I have just fallen asleep so I don’t here my phone. They don’t close until 7pm which is when I’ll be starting my shift, so I figured I’d call them on the way to work and make my payment. I wake up at 4pm to BANGING on my door and they are demanding their property back. So I call RAC and ask why they would send someone to pick up my stuff before I was even given a chance to make a payment and "Steve” the manager gets an attitude with me and I explained to him that I refuse to open the door to someone messing with my locks while I’m home alone and now they’ll have to wait for their payment. He agreed to it, yet every single day I have people at my house and again I do NOT open my door if I feel unsafe (ask my husband who came home drunk one night and was locked out because I didn’t know who it was and don’t open the door to people that bang). We’ve paid them well over $3000 and only owe $500. I’ve explained to them that our daughter passed away and it’s been difficult with funeral costs and taking time off work and they don’t care. They leave me threatening voicemails multiple times a day and at this point I feel unsafe. I wish my husband never went to RAC

...of course, everyone who responds critically to a Rent A Center whiner is an employee of Rent A Center.  Who else could possibly lack sympathy?

You didn't respond to a single one of my points, instead going for the smokescreen of "oh yeah well you must work for them."  Very convincing.

Not that it matters, but no, I don't work for Rent A Center.  Not a customer, either.  But you prefer to live in your little bubble of half-truths, so I'm sure that won't convince you.

 Seems like "John” is an employee of RAC. Since, most of his rebuttals are little "grow up” rants. By the way he talked in my post i thought he would be the type to go around posting same type replies to others posts. I was correct. You really must either love RAC to defend their deceptive practices or your work for RAC and think everyone who has an issue must be a horrible, non-bill paying moron who needs to grow up.

You start your post by claiming that you had already made a payment and didn't owe RAC any money- "I had made a payment three days previous!"  Then all this stuff about them harrassing you- why didn't you explain you had already paid?  Why didn't you call the police?  Sounds like you had a good basis for a lawsuit!

Ah, but then you pull a bait and switch- turns out that you owed "only" $500 and look how much you'd already paid plus here's your unrelated sob story (which must be included in every single RAC post) - this time it's a daughter who died and funeral costs, that's at least original, usually it's just "I had a medical issue" or "identity theft" or "my husband lost his job" or "hurricane hit" or "my phone broke."  So RAC wasn't "harrassing" you at all- it was just asking you to stop being a deadbeat and pay your bill.  

And of course, you're enraged by this because It's A Big Company I've Already Paid So Much They Don't Need My Money What Happened to Basic HumanityTM.  Ugh, please.  Just pay your bills.  Your problems cannot be made RAC's problems.  This is why RAC, Aaron's etc exist- because there are always people who want stuff but are really bad at paying for them.  Grow up.
