I have a Samsung Google Nexus S Phone and it had a "small" problem. Occasionally, it failed to read my SIM Card. Since, it was only 3 months young, I called Samsung 1888-987 4357 and I shipped the device back for repair.
A Month later, I got my phone back and to my surprise, I found a not saying " Your phone is beyond repair". This was just a tip of the iceberg, I charged my phone and turned it on and it would not even turn on, then I noticed scratches all over and I also realized they lost my Original box and manuals.

I called Samsung USA and talked to about half a dozen different reps. One lady, I think her name was Rozina or someone, completely shut me up. Every time I said, my phone want turn ON, she would say, liquid damage and every time I would say how about those scratches, she would tell me "BER" which is beyond repair and I can do nothing about it.

How could there be water damage when, the phone was always on the casing? At least my phone was functioning 80% of the time and now it does NOT even turn on.

Never ever buying Samsung Products again, also selling my Galaxy S II Tablet and getting a SONY S. My next TV or any electronic will NOT be Samsung.

Ok I will say the samething I have told everyone about this.  I have had 6 phones that have used the same type of charger without any problems, as a matter of fact my first Android was the Samsung Galaxy Prevail.  So why is there a problem in just four months this time.  The phone was never dropped, as a matter of fact I went out of my way to protect it.  It was not a "new toy" as you put it, it is the fifth Andriod phone I've owned and I already knew what it did. so I was not "playing" with it.  Also as I said I do have pictures that show that the case and there is no drop damage to it at all.  As far as the port not just coming lose, I am not the only person to have this problem with the S3.  I posted on Facebook and have had quite a few people saying that they have had the same problem.

Same Situation for Galaxy Nexus Phone

AUTHOR: Luis - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 14, 2013

To all,

I sympathize with your concerns.  I have the exact same situation.  My phone has a well documented problem of a damaged USB Charging port.  You can find many entries on the internet of similar problems.

I called Samsung to see if they reconsider and I even offered to pay for the repair and installation of the USB Port to see if it will fix the problem.  Samsung answer was that "once we determine the phone BER they will not take a look or try to repair the phone anymore".

I'll take my phone to a local repair shop to see if they can repair the phone.  If the repair is successful, I'll contemplate calling a friend who is a an "awesome" litigation lawyer.

Samsung has lost a customer for life... Too bad, since I'm a Techno Geek that spends thousands in consumer electronics and has a considerable influence over many potential customers. I'll make sure this experience is well noted and shared among my circle of influence.

Similar Samsung Mobile Incident

AUTHOR: gauchofever - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, February 13, 2012

It actually started off pretty pleasant.  My phone's speakers were not working on my Sansung Infuse 4g.  keep in mind I have never submerged the phone in water, obviously.  I called AIT&T and they deferred me to Samsung Repair.  The person who assisted me was very helpful and it made me feel like I should have called Samsung first instead of my carrier.  He told me it seemed like an easy fix and that the speaker assembly would just be replaced.

He gave me all the information i needed to get the phone to the repair area and I thought I was set.  two weeks later, I get an email telling me my phone was shipped.  I looked at the email and it Said BER with absolutely no explanation as to what it meant.  I googled Samsung BER and found this Rip off report and it was strinkingly similar to my situation where they said there was water damage when I know there was no water damage.  I called them up and they had told me that it was beyond economical repair.  this is a phone that was still under warranty and has zero water damage.  In my eyes, Samsung chose to not honor their warranty and left me with a phone that they could have easily swapped out speakers for instead of putting all these resources (i.e. shipping, customer service time, etc.) behind rejecting an easy fix.  They didn't even contact me to even offer to have it fixed but i guess beyond economical repair means they're not willing to repair and is a waste of their time so you can move on to the next inferior samsung product, but not me.

Needless to say, I will never purchase a samsung product again. No TV, Mobile Phone, washer dryer, not even an SD card reader. I will tell everyone the same.
