My son looked out the window and at that point the two males went crazy .... my son stated that he went back to the vehicle and got something that looked like a screw driver and was hitting my storm door and stepping on the bottom of it ... When I arrived home I noticed my door was hanging off the hinges and called the store because they had the nerver to leave a door tag on a door they almost torm down ... the assintant manager laughed stating that I am late on payment and no one cared about my door ... he said door was already damaged ( which it wasnt )

I called police and made a report .... and called store to speak with manger stated tht he will give me 1/2 off my couch I advised him I rent this property and I needed door fixed not a discount .... that the door is very heavy and it wasnt damanged before they came out my son said he would hit the door hidges and say gonna open the door now .... Insurance justifies stealing...

""I gave this person some good advice because I have seen a former neighbor of mine do it and the reason they did it was becauase Rent A Center harassed them day and night,""
You gave bad advice-period. It is never in the consumer's best interest to break the law when dealing with others. I was shocked that you would advise someone to do this. But then, the OP would be the one risking prosecution and a criminal record- NOT YOU. It's real easy to tell others to do something when YOU ARE NOT the one who will suffer the consequences of that bad advice.
I never advise anyone to do something that will put them at risk of further financial or legal troubles.
""I even had to go out on the balcony and throw eggs at the stupid truck drivers for making all kinds of unwanted noise by banging on their door. ""
You're lucky you didn't hurt someone. Ya know, a thrown egg could cut someone's eye or rib a cornea. Heaven forbid that someone should try to get paid or get their property. Ever think to call the police? Naw, not tough-guy Margaret. You'll get 'em!
""This company has plenty of insurance to cover their a$$e$ due to the fact that they are a Rent to Own company, because they expect some of the dead beat people in the world to do this, well after witnessing the rude, obnoxious behavior out of Rent A Center's drivers, even I would do it and I don't even have to shop at a rent to own store, so that is why I have the advice I gave. If someone steps on my toes, you better believe I will be stomping on theirs!!!!!!!!!!!!""
Yeah right, the "they have insurance so it's OK to steal" excuse. I have insurance on my truck so I guess in your world it's OK to steal my truck. Every retailer has insurance, so I guess it's ok for you to steal whatever YOU decide is overpriced, right? After all, they're scamming you by overpricing it, eh?
Banks have insurance too. Guess it's ok to rob a bank if you overdraw your account and get a (gasp) overdraft fee, right?
Need I go on? You have a criminal view of things Margaret. Your "advice" was terrible and hopefully the OP will not follow it. There are other, lawful and more effective methods to resolve issues.

File a police report. Your son will have to talk to the police about what happened. After you have the police report, talk to an attorney.
Do not steal Rent A Center's property. They will have every right to call the police on you.

Margaret, you are wrong

First, Maragret you are not only condoning theft but you are also condoning battery (throwing eggs at the drivers).
Unhappy,
My suggestion to you Irving is to return the merchandise, go somewhere else and take your losses.
My company prosecutes customers that do not pay.
We expect some loss yes, but that does not mean that it is ok to steal from someone. The reason that the cost of any rent-to-own merchandise is because of people like your "friend" Margaret. Like ANY retailer, the more loss the more the pricing increases.
Something to note: RTO companies aren't like regular retail stores, the risk is tremendous because we do not do credit checks. We take the word of your friends and family that you are responsible and that you will make your payments on time.
We are not "loan sharks" nor do we "prey" on the low income. We offer a service to people that either have less than perfect credit (major credit risks ) or people that do not want anything more on their credit report.
Irving, you may want to either pay on time or return the merch and find someplace that is more willing to work with you.

Go and put your head back in the sand where it belongs. I gave this person some good advice because I have seen a former neighbor of mine do it and the reason they did it was becauase Rent A Center harassed them day and night, I even had to go out on the balcony and throw eggs at the stupid truck drivers for making all kinds of unwanted noise by banging on their door. Are you for real Margaret???

""Since Rent A Center is such a joke of a company, do this if you can. Move and don't tell them, keep the items and stop paying. They are a rental company and they can't do anything about it. ""
WHY do you suggest to someone that they commit theft? WHY do you suggest someone do something that they can be prosecuted for???
""That is why their prices are so high because they are automatically protected and really already have their money so just go ahead and move if you can and quit paying. I know someone that did this and got a free apt full of furniture and even though I don't condone theft, I condone this!""
By your own words you condone theft! What if I borrowed your lawnmower for a week and paid you $15 to borrow it, and then moved away in the middle of the night without telling you where I was, how to contact me, or returning your lawnmower - what would you call that?
The law calls it THEFT. And plenty of folks have been prosecuted and found guilty of doing what you suggest.
