My problem is I was renting from RAC, and my living situation changed. I had to move and I had to move like ASAP. So I called RAC told them I was moving, the same day. They told me I had no account w/ them so I was like you sure gave then all mah info and told them to check and get back w/ me. They never did so I moved and yeah I moved their furniture w/ me.
3 weeks later two warrant officers came to my house, broke my door down and arrested me for recieving stolen property, and theft, and unwillful taking of leased property. I was in jail for 3 days before the judge let me out on ROR. I have court Aug 2, 2006 for this, and I'm like Woah. I wanted you guys to take this sh** from me you never did so I held on to it.
Now I've been arrested for the first time in my life for rented furniture from RAC. Like WTF. The city of Philadelphia already has enough crime, and they'e worried about furniture I told their lazy asses to pick up. I mean what do I do? Should I return the furniture before the court date so I can tell the judge look there's no case I have no possesion of the items or should I wait for the judge to tell me what to do? I mean this is crazy an arrest warrant for RAC.
Employees of this store need a real life, your not undercovers. You work for $10 an hour. please, and your benfits suck. I think you all get caught up in your line of work too much. B/C the ghetto MF'ers they give the job to have never had a job pay so much and there only other option is flippin burgers for 5.50 an hour. I'm not hatin I'm just saying take it easy I think you guys take the job too serious you're not donating kidneys hommie. Thanks for your time.

90 days same as cash = "90 days same as cash". I'm not sure what your incident was, but your base rent (this excludes the tax, waiver liability & optional benefits plus program) that you put in goes towards the cash price. The computer keeps up with it & there's no BS about it. (I promise!)

They are crooks

I have personally know how crooked this company is and agree with you that they should have picked up the merchandise. Although you probably should not left with the merchandise I still think it is shameful that you could be arrested for it. I think that whole company should be arrested for ripping people off.
Words to remember "Consumers Beware"! This company and it's 90 days same as cash just like aaron's has always been BS. How do you think these crooks make money?

Return the merchandise

Your rental agreement states that RAC needs to be notified when you are moving. If they could not find record of you, you should've physically went to the store & spoke with the store manager to make arrangements.
When you moved the merchandise, were your payments caught up? Or did you move & refused to make anymore payments on your items? If you were not paying on your items, then that makes it look like you are trying to skip out of what you owe.
At this point of the situation if I was in your shoes, you should take the merchandise back to the store and obtain a receipt showing proof that your merchandise has been returned. Or find out what it'll take to pay off the merchandise & be done with it. The more payoffs &/or better pay history you keep with RAC, the more likely it'll be where they or a different RAC store will approve your rental order for another item when you need it someday.

This is what u need to do.call the home office and explain to them what has happened they have an office in plano tx.They have lawyers that work right there in their offices.rac has a pokicy that if you move you can transfer your account to the closest store to where you live. Then you could make the payments at that store.Since this has already happened to you yes go and return the merchadise to the closest store to you make sure you get a receipt.
They have to take the merchandise back.they can not refuse it.This company has went to hell in the last year they have none nothing but harrased and taken their customers to courtbut i worked there for 4 yrs and i am not a low life and i made a lot more then 10.00 and hour.I actually made 75,000 a year.im definatly not sticking up for this company because i hate them.they are the worst company to work for and treat their customers like a bunch of low lifes.so return the stuff you have and explain to the judge what had happened.
Maybe you should even get a lawyer so you can get whats coming to you like time lost at work, and all the other mental stuff that goes with it.i have never heard of a case like this.its usually a cival suit and cops dont go after rac customers.stick up for what happened to u and dont let them get away with it good luck and let me know what happens.if u need anymore info id be glad to give you information

you should have taken it to the RAC store (during store hours)and gotten a receipt instead of taking it with you.
Contact RAC, arrange to have the furniture returned (you will probably have to return it instead of them picking it up)and they may drop the case (provided there is no damage to it).
Good luck.
