Rentacenter LAPTOP RIP OFF Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

I recently signed an agreement (90 days same as cash) at a Pittsburgh Rent-A-Center. The manager told me that the laptop, a Dell model 1150, that he had in stock "had to be sold as used" because he had written up a contract with someone on it, but the customer never picked it up, but the computer had not been used and was in new conditon. He also went on to state that the laptop was almost "close to retail" value. The laptop was not "out on display", so, I could not see the "payment options nor value", as they list on all other products, required by law.

Over the next 90 days, I agreed to pay $1989.00, thinking this was close to retail due to his statements, and him telling me it was new. So, I paid $200.00 and then within the next two weeks, paid another $200.00, only to find that this computer had in fact been "rented" to someone else. Their files were all over the laptop, pictures, "viruses", spyware, etc. I then investigate further and find out that the same laptop has a retail NEW from Dell for less than $1000.00. I even offered to still purchase the laptop at a fair, reduced price and the manager would not agree to do this. NO-GO!

So, not only did the manager LIE about the retail value, he LIED about it never being used before me. You know, I don't mind paying a little additional because of my "credit circumstances" and all businesses need to make a profit, BUT THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Paying almost $1000 OVER retail, and for something that is USED! I can't tell you how angry I am. It behooves me why they would try to RIP you off, when you could be a repeat customer. Now, this laptop has been used "twice", it is full of spyware, obviously from downloading music files, or the such, and basically RENDERED a piece of crap, unless you are a computer programmer or take it to be serviced! DO NOT USE RENT-A-CENTER! They are LEGAL SCAM ARTISTS!
